Kazuhiro Iwai
Kazuhiro Iwai is Provost and Executive Vice President, Kyoto University. After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine, Kyoto University, he worked as a resident physician at Kobe General Hospital. He received a Ph.D. in 1992 from Kyoto University and performed his postdoctoral studies with Richard Klausner at NIH, USA from 1993 to 1996. He was a full Professor at Osaka City University and Osaka University, Japan, and then moved to Kyoto University in 2012. His research focuses on patho-physiological functions of LUBAC-mediated linear ubiquitination and roles of iron in cellular senescence.
