Selina Zhang
A 2nd year PhD student at Macquarie University, researching amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) at the Motor Neuron Disease Research Centre. ALS is a fatal neurodegenerative disease affecting the motor neurons that leaves patients paralysed within their own bodies. My work aims to better understand and treat ALS by using targeted protein degradation to help reduce TDP-43 pathologies in novel in vitro models of ALS, as a potential therapeutic strategy.
