Fumiaki Ohtake
My research focuses on the ubiquitin code, branched ubiquitin chains, and the molecular mechanisms of targeted protein degradation. After contributing to the elucidation of K48/K63-branched ubiquitin chain function (Mol Cell 2016; PNAS 2018), I established my independent lab at Hoshi University. My group studies the roles of branched chains in targeted protein degradation (Mol Cell 2021; Nat Chem Biol 2023; Nat Commun 2024) and has recently identified novel TRIP12 substrates (Nat Commun 2025).
