Nishma Gupta
Dr. Nishma Gupta is a Senior post-doctoral fellow in the Silke group at WEHI, Melbourne working on regulation of cell death and inflammatory pathways. In her previous role as a cell biologist, she led target biology studies of WEHI-Boehringer Ingelheim collaboration, focusing on targeted protein degradation strategies to develop anti-cancer therapeutics.
She earned her PhD from MKU, India, followed by post-doctoral research at WEHI and University of Melbourne (Villadangos group), investigating role of proteins and post translational modifications in immune cell function and disease. Here she developed novel approaches to study protein trafficking, sub-cellular proteomes and role of O-GlcNAc glycosylation in dendritic cells. Her expertise spans clinical proteomics, immunology, immunometabolism, biomarker and drug discovery, with a focus on protein biology.
