Mengying Zhou Inaugural Australian Ubiquitin Summit 2025

Mengying Zhou

My name is Mengying Zhou, and I’m a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard Medical School. My research focuses on ubiquitin signaling pathways that regulate the degradation of “difficult” substrates, particularly aggregation-prone proteins linked to neurodegenerative diseases. I combine biochemical, structural, proteomic, and imaging approaches to explore the mechanisms by which the E3 ligase HUWE1 amplifies ubiquitin signals and promotes substrate degradation. I am also interested in learning how E3 ligases can be harnessed to eliminate pathological protein aggregates and support therapeutic development.
